| NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 26, 2009 -- Xerox Corporation closed 2008 earning more than
230 industry awards, an increase of more than 20 percent over the previous year.
Leading industry publications and independent testing and research firms around
the world recognized Xerox office products and services for a range of attributes
including image quality, performance and technical innovation.
The latest came from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), which in December awarded
top honors to Xerox for outstanding color image quality and technical innovation.
BLI, an independent testing lab, presented the company with two "Outstanding
Achievement Awards" for consistently superior image quality in the color
multifunction printer (MFP) portfolio and another for innovation in printer
drivers. The test lab conducts intensive competitive testing on document products,
comparing overall performance, productivity, reliability and ease of use, among
many other critical performance factors.
"These Outstanding Achievement awards reflect our efforts to focus on
what customers like, what they expect and what they need," said Rick Dastin,
president, Xerox Office Group. "We develop products that adapt to the customer-not
the other way around-and the success of that philosophy is apparent."
The Phaser™ 3300MFP and Phaser 3635MFP multifunction printers were also
recognized by BLI with Fall "Pick of the Year" awards. Xerox garnered
a total of nine "Pick" awards for products and software solutions
in the past year.
Throughout 2008, Xerox received recognition from leading independent computer
and information technology organizations in more than 20 countries. Award-winning
products range from software, scanners, color printers and multifunction systems
- including DocuShare™, DocuMate™, DocuColor™, Phaser and
WorkCentre™ lines - to high-speed digital production technology such as
the Xerox iGen4™ Digital Production Press and Xerox Nuvera® 100, 120,
144 and 288 Digital Production Systems.
